Hi, I’m Fabian
Engineer, Photographer & Founder of Shutterprofits
Welcome to Shutterprofits.com.
I’m an engineer by profession and a passionate photographer who discovered that photos can become more than just memories — they can turn into income-generating digital assets.
Through stock photography, a single image can be licensed by businesses, creators, and companies all over the world.
That means a photo you took once can generate income again and again.
That idea fascinated me.
Today, I share everything I’ve learned to help beginners understand how stock photography works and how to build a portfolio that generates passive income over time.
Quick Facts
• 16+ years of photography experience
• Stock contributor since 2020
• Contributor on Shutterstock, Adobe Stock and Pond5
• Around 80 stock photo downloads per month
My Story
My journey into photography started back in 2010.
With the salary from my internship, I bought my very first DSLR camera. At the time, photography was simply a hobby. I loved capturing landscapes, plants, travel moments, and interesting scenes from everyday life.
For years, photography remained something I enjoyed doing purely for fun.
That changed in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, when I discovered stock photography.
The concept was simple but powerful:
Instead of photos sitting unused on a hard drive, they could be uploaded to stock platforms where companies, marketers, and creators license them for their projects.
So I decided to test it.
After uploading about 40 images, my first sale happened.
The commission?
$0.49.
It was tiny.
But it proved something important:
This actually works.
The Moment Everything Clicked
About a year into contributing to stock platforms, something interesting started happening.
Patterns became visible.
Some photos were downloaded repeatedly while others never sold.
By analyzing which images performed well, I slowly began to understand what buyers are actually looking for.
At the same time, upgrading to a full-frame camera (Nikon Z6) helped me dramatically reduce rejection rates and improve efficiency.
From that point on, stock photography became more than just an experiment — it became a structured creative side project.
Today, my images generate consistent monthly downloads across multiple stock platforms.
Why I Created Shutterprofits
When I started learning about stock photography, I ran into a common problem.
Most resources online were either:
• outdated
• overly complicated
• or trying to sell expensive courses
Very few explained stock photography in a simple, realistic and beginner-friendly way.
So I decided to create the kind of resource I wished existed when I started.
Shutterprofits was built to help photographers understand:
- how stock photography really works
- what photos actually sell
- how to build a portfolio step by step
- and how to create a long-term passive income stream
No hype.
No unrealistic promises.
Just tested strategies and honest insights.
My Approach to Stock Photography
Stock photography is not a get-rich-quick scheme.
But it is one of the most accessible ways to build a creative online income stream.
My philosophy is simple:
Start small.
Stay consistent.
Let your portfolio grow.
You don’t need expensive equipment to start.
Many successful contributors begin with:
- a smartphone
- an entry-level camera
- or photos they already have on their hard drive.
Consistency and learning what sells matter far more than having perfect gear.
